Arkansas' Anthony Black and Ricky Council IV were named to All-District teams by two organizations.

Black was voted second team All-District 20 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and Council was named to the 10-person All-District VII team by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).

The NABC All-District team has been around since 2004 and at least one Razorback has been represented in each of the 20 seasons. A Razorback has been named the USBWA All-District team 55 times since 1960.

Black is the only player in the SEC to rank among its top 25 in the five major categories – scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocked shots.

He ranks third in steals (1.97), fourth in assists (4.15), 9th in points (12.85), 23rd in rebounds (5.09) and 24th in blocked shots (0.61).

He has tied the program record for most steals by a Razorback freshman (65) and he ranks fourth among NCAA freshmen in steals.

Council has led the Razorbacks in scoring all season and ranks sixth in the SEC at 15.9 ppg.

He nearly doubled his scoring assists from last year, when he was the AAC Sixth Man of the Year at Wichita State, going from 336 points to 525 and going from 45 assists to 75. Council’s 87 free throws made and 115 free throw attempts in SEC games rank fifth for both categories in the Razorback record book.

For the season, his 144 free throws made are 14 shy of the school’s season top 10.

The Hogs will begin play in the NCAA Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. against Illinois.
