Pitt won the 105th edition of the “Backyard Brawl” between West Virginia and Pitt, with the Panthers pulling out a 38-31 victory in a back-and-forth battle. Taking over at QB with Kenny Pickett gone to the NFL, Kedon Slovis completed 16 of 24 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown. Rodney Hammond Jr. led the ground attack for the Panthers with 74 yards and 2 TD’s. Hammond added 55 yards receiving including an amazing 49-yard reception. Pitt defensive back M.J. Devonshire had a 56-yard interception return for a touchdown for the game-winning touchdown in the 4th Quarter.
