Ellen Kuras is making her directorial debut with Lee, a film which will tell the story of Lee Miller, a model turned war correspondent and photographer who reported for Vogue during the Second World War.

Depicting a pivotal decade in Miller's life, Lee will highlight the photographer's singular talent and unbridled tenacity, which resulted in some of the most unforgettable war photography, including an iconic photo of Miller posing defiantly in Hitler's private bathtub.

The film premiered at 2023's Toronto International Film Festival and screened at AFI Fest a month later and now has its first teaser, which shows Kate Winslet in action as Lee Miller.

The 60-second teaser doesn't give much away, but it does show the physical and emotional transformation of Winslet as Lee Miller as the decades tick by.

Joining Winslet in the cast are Josh O'Connor, Andrea Riseborough, Andy Samberg, Alexander Skarsgård and Marion Cotillard.

Lee is the first feature film of Kuras, whose career as a cinematographer has earned her an Oscar nomination. Her many credits include titles such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, A Little Chaos, American Utopia and The Betrayal - Nerakhoon.

The script was penned by Marion Hume, John Collee and the Emmy-nominated Liz Hannah, and the film is produced by Winslet along with Kate Solomon, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Marie Savare and Lauren Hantz.

Lee is set for release on September 27.
