Brandin Cooks teases Cowboys fans with strong message about Dak Prescott's future
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

In a season in which Dak Prescott is trending toward playing under the shiniest spotlight, a contract year for the Dallas Cowboys, expectations about his 2024 season are all over the place.

Some claim Prescott's 2023, in which he finished second place in MVP voting, was a rarity and not his real self. Some counter that Prescott has always had that caliber, and that Mike McCarthy's play-calling finally allowed him to cook.

Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks isn't holding back on his own predictions: Not only does he believe Prescott won't take a step back, he believes he's about to be much better.

In a recent post on Twitter/X, Cooks revealed after a throwing session that last season "was just a glimpse" of what's ahead for the Cowboys quarterback.

Although Cooks would be motivated to say that as a teammate, his words shouldn't be taken as biased. Since his arrival at Dallas, he's been a transparent veteran that's fully bought into Prescott's skillset, even comparing him with legends he's worked with in his decade-long career throughout the NFL.

In 2023, Prescott and Cooks took a while getting going together, as the veteran wideout didn't record over 50 receiving yards in a game until he went off in Week 10 with 176 yards versus the New York Giants. From Week 10 to Week 18, Cooks averaged 55 yards per game and scored six touchdowns total in that span.

In their second year together, Prescott and Cooks' chemistry will be key for offensive success with so many question marks in the running game and on the offensive line.
