Jordan Love one of 10 quarterbacks with something to prove in 2023
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been in the headlines a lot heading up to the 2023 NFL regular season. There are questions surrounding him entering Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. Love can not wait to answer the bell.

Jordan Love Listed as 1 of 10 QBs With Something to Prove

CBS Sports Cody Benjamin ranked his 10 quarterbacks with something to prove entering the 2023 season. The first quarterback he had on that list at number 10 was actually Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers.

The reasoning he gave for Love was as follows:

“The time was ripe for Aaron Rodgers to fine fresh scenery, but that doesn’t mean there’s any less pressure on Love to deliever now that a future Hall of Famer has walked out the door. His arrival as a 2020 first-round pick is what set Rodgers’ eventual split into motion, and yet he enters the QB1 role having started just a single game in his first three years. We know Love has an eletric arm. Now is his chance to prove he belongs as the next long-term face of the franchise.”

Jordan Love Needs to Provide Stability For the Green Bay Packers

Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers have brought a lot of success to the starting quarterback position for the Packers for the past couple of decades. Jordan Love wants to have long-term success with the Packers like those two did. They also delivered at least one Super Bowl title, and it will be interesting to see what his future holds with the franchise.

They need to give him a chance to succeed this season. There will be growing pains. If he delivers for the Packers this season and leads them to the playoffs, they will be in good hands moving forward.

Also, in the CBS article, the rest of the rankings for the quarterbacks were as follows:

  1. 9. Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
  2. 8. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
  3. 7. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  4. 6. Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons
  5. 5. Sam Howell, Washington Commanders
  6. 4. Mac Jones, New England Patriots
  7. 3. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns
  8. 2. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
  9. 1. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

Jordan Love being low on this list is a good thing, but also being on this list shows that he has to prove himself this season.
